While the FM Towns version was indeed the best of all PC releases, it’s so retro that it’s tough to get into it again. I remember fond memories with the C64 version and it’s abysmal loading times, but when I picked this up the other day in the hope of getting back into the mood, I just couldn’t. The story is the same of course, but time and humanity has moved on.
I remember this to be a classic, and enjoyed Day of the Tentacle Remastered for its humour and weirdness, maybe one day we’ll get a remastered version of Zak too. Until such time, I can’t say I’ve enjoyed this.
